Pithead Baths

2024
A scaled up version of a photograph taken of the Pithead Baths, Prestongrange. Built in 1952 by the National Coal Board as the 100th bathhouse for miners in Scotland, the Pithead Baths at Prestongrange only served the mine for 10 years until the colliery closed. Since then, it has not been used, standing unoccupied but with all the interior still intact.

This work was first show in Stills Centre for Photography as part of Stills Salon 2024.
